Cool Cellular services

I saw this cool feature being offerred by Virgin's Australian operation (link to Virgin's description here). I don't know how useful it would end up being for me, but why is it that innovation has to be found somewhere else?

I can't wait for Virgin to start their mobile service in Canada. I realise that it's just going to be a rebranded Bell pay-as-you-go type service, but if they offer people new and innovative services it might give us the push we need in the marketplace.

Having said that I'm remarkably happy with the way that the Roger's acquisition of Fido has been done. For a Fido customer, the change has been transparent, except now I have the ability to pay a bit more to get roaming on the Roger's network. This is a pretty cool feature for me. Now I just wish that they'd let me buy a phone from a common pool. Or let me put 2 phone numbers on my existing phone.

As for that Virgin Australia CWI feature, I think that I'd be better served by working out a way to do that with my email. Perhaps the answer lies in flipping that Wi-Fi switch on the side.
