I'm thinking about buying a car...
For the past 6 years, I've been living and working in downtown Ottawa. I've been able to comfortably walk to the office every day.
Nothing has changed.
However, now that I've bought a house, I've been giving serious consideration to purchasing a car. Even worse is that I can't justify the hybrids, and I'm not sure if I can find a small car that I like.
Some of the cars that I've been looking at end up with fuel efficiencies that aren't a whole lot better than the smaller frame SUVs. In one case, the car actually had worse fuel efficiency than the small frame SUV from the same manufacturer. A number of people have said that they think that I look more comfortable behind the wheel of a larger vehicle. Can this be the end of Dilip the low CO2 emitter? My poorly insulated house, and thoughts of an SUV are making me into the prototypical example of why we'll never meet Kytoto.
The only saving grace is that it would still take me longer if I drove to work, so if I do buy a car I still won't be driving it much.

Hey,
Why not get something like a Volvo S40. Good size, Euro, and cool, and they are not that common. Would go well with someone of your good taste, the proverbial renaissance man.
